How To Know Whether You Will Be Successful Or Not

Main Content No Comments »

successBy Mohamed Tohami

Did you know that… you can instantly know whether you will be
successful or not?

All of us want to be successful, but there is a big difference between
what we want and what we have.

Today, I will give you the clue to know whether what you are doing now
in your life will lead you to a successful future or not.

You will not be anymore moving around without confidence in what your
future will be. You will know without any doubt whether you are on the
right track or you are moving towards a disappointing future.

Here is the secret revealed by Michael Korda: “Your chances of success
are directly proportional to the degree of pleasure you derive from
what you do.”

Yes, your success in life is measured by the degree of pleasure you are
experiencing with what you are doing.

No real success can be achieved without loving what you do. You can
only really excel when you love what you do, you can’t achieve maximum
performance until you love what you do, and you will not have enough
motivation to persist on your goals without loving what you do.

If you hate what you do now, whatever it is, then you have very low
chances of success.

Just think of it.

I know that you may tell me, “What can I do? I am in a college that I
hate but must finish?” or “I have a job that I can’t leave due to a lot
of responsibilities; especially financial ones”

I agree with all of that and will not tell you to go now and leave what
you are doing whatever it is because you will not be successful at the
end.

What I want to tell you is that you must be on a path where you love
what you do. And to do that you have to start now to define
your life purpose.

Defining your life purpose is the first step towards a satisfactory and
successful life. You have to know the path that will let you live with
passion and make a difference to other people’s life.

When you discover your life purpose you will have the power to do little changes, one at a time, until you are aligned with the right direction; the direction of your life purpose and your ultimate destiny.

You will not change your path in a night. But you can start now under
your current situation doing the necessary preparation and doing very
small changes that will build up and at a certain time with another
small change you will be on the right track.

Here is the secret again “Your chances of success are directly
proportional to the degree of pleasure you derive from what you do.”

Past is past. Search for your life purpose now to survive your future
and live with passion.

Don’t you agree with me that you will only succeed when you do what you
love?

My friend you can make a difference.

I believe in you.

How to Relieve Stress by Meditation

Main Content No Comments »

meditationThe word meditation simply is defined as to be in a continuous contemplative thought or to simply just think about doing something. We all have different types of stress in our lives. Some of us our stressed out over a job, or maybe a relationship, or children, or if you are like most of us you are stressed over finances. Taking the time to meditate in your own relaxing way will help with the stress you are feeling. I have learned that worrying about what is stressing you will not help solve the situation that is upsetting you.

You may think that taking time out of your already busy life to meditate is ridiculous, But it is not ridiculous it will absolutely help calm your nerves which will help you relax enough to sit down and calmly work out the situation that is upsetting you. I found that I can relax and meditate by sitting and relaxing in a hot bubble bath. If you are worried about not having enough time to sit and relax in a hot tub maybe you can just go outside for a breath of fresh air and take time to just collect your thoughts. After everything has calmed down you can then take the time to take a hot relaxing bath.

If the kids are stressing you out you know how easy it can be to lose your temper with the kids, so things don’t get out of control you can do breathing exercises to help meditate you. Let the kids go outside for a few minutes or maybe let them watch a movie or whatever they like to do within reason for a few minutes so that you can get your thoughts together when meditating. Breathe in and out slowly and take time to think about what options you have to control the situation that has upset you. With having to deal with our children, our jobs, our relationships, and our finances it’s a wonder we all can even go on every day.

Find a way of meditation that will work for you and you will see that even if it’s for only a few minutes that will be a few minutes you don’t have to worry about things. If you don’t want to go on the Internet to find ways to relax then go to your library in your town. There will be many, many books on relaxation by meditation. When you are in a place like the library you can actually just relax in that environment where it is quiet and relaxing. Get you 2 or 3 books and find the one that will help you the most.

You know you can also write down notes on the other books you have read. Maybe check out a couple of books that talk about different ways of meditating and write down the chapters that interest you the most. Even if you start out by just learning how to have peace of mind that is a very big accomplishment. After you have found peace of mind you can then start working on the daily things in your life that has left you feeling empty inside. Remember you can have the life you have dreamed of if you just take the time to learn ways to help you with relaxation techniques. You can find fulfillment in your life and defiantly make a difference in your life and the lives of others who feel the pressures of every day life.

Whether you find meditation and relaxation techniques through books, tapes, or even exercises you will find that when your life is free of every day stress you can then start to find solutions to the many different problems in your life in a calm peaceful way. You can go on line and find self help tapes about meditation. Do you want to just settle on a life that can make you miserable day after day? You may feel so empty inside that you feel as if you have no purpose in life.

You have to remember you are using your thoughts in your mind to meditate so you want to take the time to clear out all the negative feelings you have in your mind so that you can concentrate on how to improve your life and make a goal for yourself. Meditation can help. When you take the time to relax and really stop and think about things that are going on in your life you can also find that you are relaxed enough by meditating to find solutions to many different things you question in your life.

Discovering What Really Works

Main Content No Comments »

“Be all you can be” used to be the popular advice before the dawn of the new millennium. However, new times call for new advice. People nowadays aspire for something deeper and more meaningful.

Problems and realities confront many of us. These make it difficult for us to think hard of anything else when there are real issues that are waiting for our immediate attention.

However, these problems should not even bother or hinder us to become all we ought to be. Our aspirations should continue to live within us and continue to hold on to the dream.

We all aspire to BE THE BEST THAT WE CAN BE. Here are some questions to guide us in preparing ourselves for self-improvement.

1)    What do I really want?

We want to achieve many goals, have many things, and accomplish many things with our life and yet, we have little time to go about during the day.

We must discover the areas where we really excel. No matter how small these things are, these will support you towards improvement. Diligence is the key to know that it is worth it.

2)    Should I really change?

The younger generation is bringing the definition of “self” to a higher level. At least that is what I learned after dealing with my teenage nieces and nephews. For them, there are far worse things than acne or crushes. Surprising, isn’t it?

Incidences in our lives have taught us many lessons. These lessons are valuable guides in determining the areas in our lives that need to change. Look at recurring incidences in our lives as these leave clues as to what we need to learn in life.

3)    What is the bright side in all of this?

Napoleon Hill writes that we can view adversities in a positive light by looking at the “seed of equivalent benefit”.

There are two sides of a coin - positive and negative. This is always the case. Our task is to search for the positive side in every adversity. Believe me, you will always one.

4)    Am I expanding my reality?

There is always the easy way and right way. Many of us prefer the easy way as it is within our very own comfort zone.

Straying beyond the comfort zone provides stress. This is the reason why we retreat back to our safe cocoon never to venture out again. Sometimes, in order to grow, we need to feel discomfort. The challenge is keep on growing and expanding to reach our fullest potential.

5)    Have I done enough for myself?

Is there something more you want to do? Discontentment in every aspect of life can be dangerous. However, discontent within realistic parameters can help you see and do stuff you could never imagine doing.

6)    Am I happy at where I am today?

Aristotle declared, “Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence.” We all want to be happy.

Applying this in real life, we love being good and loving to our kids, and then take it up a notch! Your kids will love you forever. The same goes with everyday life!

7)    How much could I have?

I suppose in this case it is not a case of desiring too much or too little, but it is how badly you really need it. I would really like to have lots of money, no denying that, but the question is this: how much are you willing to work for it?

8)    What motivates me?

This we have to find out for ourselves. There are many things that can make everyone happy; but to choose one of them may be the hardest part. It is not as if you cannot have one serving of your favorite food in a buffet and that is the end of it. Just try each one. From there, we can make intelligent decisions about what works well with us.

We can be just about anything we always wanted to be. Most often, we give up just with the mere thought of attaining something that may seem very difficult.

Always remember, self-improvement is not just about the physical or philosophical change within us. It has to start with a burning desire for change and become the best that we can be.

5 Ways to Focus and Get Back on Task

Main Content 3 Comments »
Engraving of Confucius. The Chinese characters...
Image via Wikipedia

Each day, there are dozens of tasks that are calling your name, both at work and in your personal life. With life being so busy it’s easy to lose focus on the big picture.

How many times have you gone to bed wondering what you actually accomplished that day? Or have you ever felt like your day was somehow wasted?

To avoid these feelings, you can try a few different methods to get yourself back on track. Rather than bemoaning your wasted time, resolve to regain your focus and get back on task.

Confucius Says…

There’s a famous quote about focus by the great philosopher Confucius: “If you chase two rabbits, you catch none.” True, there might be people who are able to multitask and do it relatively well; but more often than not, people who split their attention between two different tasks have a more difficult time completing both tasks well.

Here are five ways to regain your focus and get back on task:

1.      Eliminate the distractions. Get rid of the barriers that are causing you to avoid getting things done - it’s that simple! Forget about checking email every five minutes; those emails will still be there when you complete your task. Make a list of distractions and eliminate!

  • Turn off the phone and let the voice mail take over.
  • Close the blinds in your office.
  • Turn off the music if you find yourself singing more than working.
  • Simply closing the door to your office can give you more privacy and more focus.

2.      Prioritize your work. Rather than working on projects simultaneously, take one thing at a time, focus on it, and worry about all the other projects later. Ultimately, you’ll get a lot more done and you’ll finish it more quickly. You’ll also be recognized by the high quality that you deliver when you’re free from distractions.

  • Find a way to prioritize that works best for you. Choose either the project that has the earliest deadline or the one with the least components so you can finish it quickly and get it out of the way. There are pros and cons to both systems so tackle it whichever way works for you.

3.      Tell everyone to respect your time. There are many nice and respectful ways to tell people to back off. If you’re finding yourself in a time crunch and can’t seem to get away from others, consider letting them know that you need time to finish some important tasks. There are a lot of different ways to do it - just make sure you do!

  • Set times that you’ll accept phone calls and even visitors. Tell them to contact you by email and then set a regular time to check your email.
  • Set business hours during which people can expect you to return their calls or emails.

4.      Set some limitations with your internet access. The internet is wonderful but it can be a huge time waster, especially if you work at a computer all day long. Regain your focus with some self-imposed rules.

  • First, close all those windows you’re not using. Avoid MySpace or Facebook, quit searching on eBay, and leave messenger alone!
  • Establish certain times each day to use these fun things and just focus on what you have to do. You’ll quickly accomplish more!

5.      Have confidence in your abilities. This may seem like a really small thing when it comes to focusing and getting back on task, but believing that you can get everything done that you set out to do puts you in a positive frame of mind and you’ll be less distracted with stress and worry.

  • Have confidence that you can complete each task with ease and believe in your ability to deliver. If you’ll just have the confidence, you’re sure to have the focus!

Now that you’ve been introduced to five ways to focus and get back on task, it’s up to you to take action and learn how to focus your thoughts. If you’ve got to get stuff done, follow these steps so you can put yourself - and your goals - first!

3 Steps to Make Your Dreams into Reality

Main Content 3 Comments »

Everyone has a dream - many dreams actually - but few believe that they can actually achieve them. Nevertheless, some people achieve their dreams while others live lives of regret. Some are inspired and follow through, while others delay or give up entirely on their dreams in exchange for whatever excuses they comfort themselves with.

What are the factors that make that difference between the person who achieves and the one who regrets?

Here are three simple steps you can take to help you live the life of your dreams:

1.      Motivation. Everyone has their own motivations for their dreams. Consider what motivates you towards your goal. It could be financial freedom, more free time, or a second home in the Caribbean. Whatever it is, remind yourself of it on a daily basis.

For example, having pictures of your dream Caribbean home hung on the fridge or in your work space will remind you of your dream and refresh your mind with motivation.

  • When you suffer inevitable setbacks or frustration, a visible reminder of your dream will help motivate you to do what is necessary to get back on track toward your goal.

It is also important to give yourself rewards along the way. Rewarding yourself after making a breakthrough, such as acquiring a new client, learning a new computer program, or sharing a smile with your teenager, is absolutely necessary to effectively following through on your path to success.

Treat yourself to a nice dinner, take the day off for a game of golf, or reward yourself with something else you like. Your reward will give you a refreshing break from the trials and tribulations on your path to success and bring you new energy to continue working toward your goal.

  • Giving yourself a reward here and there along the way will reinvigorate your motivation with its positive result.

2.      Planning. Although developing a systematic plan may seem obvious if you want to achieve your goals, many people overlook or downplay this process and then wonder why they aren’t moving forward toward their goal. Be sure to take the time to plan your path for greater success!

  • Once you have a broad plan to reaching your goal, you must fine-tune all the details. Put it down on paper, even if it’s an emotional or psychological life goal, and determine the steps necessary to make that goal a reality.
  • Put a time frame on it. Put all excuses aside with a finite deadline for each step.
  • Be realistic of your own competencies.

Creating a realistic step-by-step plan with a deadline will bring your dream to life. Setting definable little goals to achieve on the way to your desired large goal will enable you to follow your plan through to success.

3.      Action. Lastly, no dream or goal can be achieved without action. If you’ve developed your plan as recommended, you will see that there are a number of little steps you must take on a daily or intermittent basis that will further you on your path to your ultimate goal.

  • Your little steps give you the map to your treasure. Take action to follow your map. Each step you complete brings you closer to your goal.
  • Evaluate your actions and revise your map as necessary. If a plan falls through, then be adaptable to change it until you find yourself back on the path to success.

Motivation, planning and action will enable you to create and live the life you’ve always wanted. It may take some time, but following these steps will guide you to success.
